Fried Millets ( Millet Fried Rice )

INGREDIENTS

2 tsp Cooking Oil

2 chopped Garlic cloves

1 medium Onion

1/2 cup chopped beans

1/2 cup chopped Carrots

1/2 cup chopped Broccoli

1 tsp Turmeric

1 tsp Chilli Powder

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Biryani Masala

1 cup cooked Millets ( used Kodo Millet )

PROCESS

  • In a heated frying pan, add oil, chopped garlic and roast for 2 mins.

  • Add finely chopped onions and roast for 3-4 mins or till onions turn golden brown in color.

  • Now add chopped beans and carrots. Roast everything for 5 mins or till veggies are cooked well. 

  • Add chopped broccoli and roast for 2 mins.

  • Now add all the spices, turmeric, chilli powder, salt, biryani masala ( add spices to taste ).

  • Mix everything and cook on low flame for 2-3 mins. Now add cooked kodo millets, mix everything well and cook for 2 mins.

  • Turn off the flame and serve as it is or with coconut yogurt.

Note : Never mix different varieties of millets together. Use single kind of millet.

VARIATION : Add any veggies of your choice, like cauliflower, cabbage, potato. Biryani masala is option but brings out great taste.

STORAGE : Store in an air-tight container in refrigerator for 2 days. Serve hot.
