Spicy Braised Tofu

Vegan | Gluten-Free

Yield : 3-4 Servings

Time : 20 mins


  • Tofu Block

  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar

  • 2-3 tsp Red Chillies Powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder

  • 2 tbsp Shredded Coconut

  • 1/2 tsp Dried Mint Powder

  • 1/4 cup chopped Onion

  • 3 tbsp chopped Green Onion

  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seed


  • Prepare Tofu by pressing tofu block with heavy pan for 20 mins.

  • Cut tofu to desired bite size cubes and pan fry both sides with 2 tbsp of cooking oil. Fry till both sides turn golden brown in color.

  • Keep fried tofu in a separate plate and add chopped onions, chopped green onions & shredded coconut to the same pan and roast for 3-4 mins.

  • In a small bowl, add soy sauce, rice vinegar, red chillies powder, salt, coriander powder, dried mint powder, mix everything well and keep aside.

  • Once onions are ready, add fried Tofu, prepared sauce and cook for 2-3 mins with lid closed.

  • Serve as it is or as a side dish!
