Ingredients to make Almond Chocolate Bars

  • Almond Butter. Use natural almond butter that has just almonds as ingredients ( or almonds and salt ).
  • Coconut Sugar. Coconut sugar has its own health benefits compared to regular refined sugar, but if you cannot find one or have one, use brown sugar or regular sugar. Highly recommend having coconut sugar at home all the time if you are conscious of sugar intake.
  • Chia Seeds. Chia seeds act as a binding agent here just like eggs, can use flaxseed meal instead.
  • Maple Syrup. Even dough we have coconut sugar, we are again using maple syrup to get the proper consistency. Can use other liquid sweeteners too. I did not try using any plant milk in place of maple syrup to adjust the texture, let me know in the comments if you tried that!
  • Vanilla Extract.
  • Rolled Oats.
  • Almond Flour.
  • Baking Powder.
  • Salt.
  • Dark Chocolate Chips.
  • Sliced Almonds.

*If you have gluten intolerance, please make sure to double-check the ingredients before use or serve. Gluten intolerance can be deadly to some.

Step-by-step process to make Almond Chocolate Bars

  • Add all wet ingredients ( almond butter, coconut sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, chia seeds ) to a bowl and mix everything using a spatula or whisk. Make sure to no lumps are formed.
  • To the same bowl add dry ingredients ( rolled oats, almond flour, baking powder, salt ) and mix with wet ingredients. The dough might turn a little hard to work with a spatula now, use your hands if needed.
  • Add chocolate chips, sliced almonds, and try to fold in.
  • Transfer to a parchment-lined brownie pan ( 8 by 8 ) and level out.
  • Add extra chocolate and sliced almonds on top if needed.
  • Bake at 350F for 30 mins. Let cool and slice bars.
  • Warm the bar in the microwave for 10-15 secs before serving as it may be hardened when cooled. If you prefer it hard, then enjoy it as it is!
